Royksopp And Robyn’s “Monument” Video: Watch The Cerebral Odyssey

Norwegian duo Royksopp and Swedish songbird Robyn continue to think outside the box with “Monument,” their second music video to come forth from their joint Do It Again EP. The concept here is simple on the surface, with Robyn and her comrades spinning around on a glowing, disc-like white surface. But take a closer look and you’ll notice that the clip plays like a sort of companion piece to current summer popcorn movie Lucy, with its visual exploration into what happens when we tap into the deeper resources of our mind.

Robyn appears to transcend her surroundings while singing the lyrics, and even mouths words that aren’t even present in the song when she should be taking a breath. By the video’s end, Robyn stares up into space as an upside-down pyramid-like structure draws closer.

What does it all mean? It’s likely left up to each individual viewer to determine. But, hey — the mullet’s looking good, Robyn.
