Aussie YouTube sensation Troye Sivan is officially a bonafide pop star to be reckoned with.

The “Happy Little Pill” crooner quickly garnered critical acclaim with his debut single (which just broke into the Billboard Hot 100), a song that some of our favorite pop stars are loving, including Adam Lambert. (And Florrie already covered the song!)

And now, his major label debut EP is following suit: TRXYE, which was released today worldwide, soared straight to #1 on iTunes in the US — and an unbelievable 54 more countries as well.

The 5-track collection of brooding, heartfelt pop records sees the burgeoning singer teaming up with Perth production team SLUMs, with mixing duties supplied by Tom Elmhirst and Jason Cox. Along with “Happy Little Pill,” the collection includes new tracks “Touch,” “Fun” and “Gasoline,” as well as a reworking of “The Fault In Our Stars,” his poignant ballad inspired by the popular book/movie.

It’s a remarkably mature, well-crafted set wholly deserving of praise which, judging by its current iTunes reign, it’s certainly getting.
