Happy Friday, Idolator Readers. Before we head straight into the Labor Day weekend, let us reflect on this week’s glamorous world of pop!

First up, with the 2014 MTV VMAs madness coming to a close on Sunday, we recapped all of the night’s events and best red carpet moments as well as the complete list of Moonman winners. We also discovered that Nicki Minaj’s “scandalous” wardrobe malfunction was actually all a hoax, fawned over Demi Lovato’s gorgeous red dress and realized that Jennifer Lopez looks great, well, always.

Not to mention, J.Lo also released a hard-hitting remix of “Booty” with fellow bootylicious babe Iggy Azalea, while Charli XCX premiered her rebellious-school-girl music video for single “Break The Rules.” Usher also hopped on the bandwagon and dropped his new Mike WILL Made-It-produced album-track “Believe Me” as well as his visual for the Nicki Minaj-assisted “She Came To Give It To You.”

Here on Idolator, we sat down not only with up-and-coming North London beatsmith Shift K3Y to talk about his music journey, but also spoke to Nick Jonas about his exciting much-awaited solo album. What’s more, we also premiered New York songstress VERITE’s new single “Weekend.”

As per usual, you guys had plenty to say. Read this week’s roundup of the best reader comments below.

:: pr64 noted Adam Lambert’s obsession with Lady Gaga on Lady Gaga Made A Surprise Appearance During The Adam Lambert & Queen Tour In Australia: Watch: “Wish I could have been there. adam idolizes gaga, and when she’s not acting like an idiot, she’s a brilliant singer! I can just imagine them together raising hell!!”

:: While we loved it, Lory hated Miley‘s cover of Roy Orbison‘s “It’s Over” on Miley Cyrus’ Amazing Cover Of Roy Orbison’s “It’s Over” On The Final ‘Chelsea Lately’: Watch: “Uh uh, no–it was a terrible cover of a great song.”

:: Nene Leks was all about Laverne Cox on Laverne Cox Dancing To Beyonce’s Medley Was Possibly The Best Moment Of The VMAs: Watch: “YAAAAAAAAAAAS LAVERNE U GIVE ME LIFE GURRRRRRRRRRL.”

:: Nic smelled desperation on Jennifer Lopez And Iggy Azalea Discuss Their “Booty” Remix On MTV’s ‘House Of Style’: Watch: “Jennifer still trying to make that music career happen with a song better suited for a newbie, not someone who’s been making music since 1999. Desperation should be her new perfume as well.”

:: Reymon thinks that Gaga is finally beginning to show her true self on Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett Jam In Their Low-Key “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” Video: Watch: “I think we can finally see and hear the REAL Lady Gaga.
 Love it.”

:: Mark was furious with Lil Kim on Lil Kim Comes For Nicki Minaj Yet Again With “No Flex Zone!!” Remix: Listen To Her Cutting Rendition: “Are you f*cking kidding me?! Lil Kim GIVE IT UP baby girl. This is just sad and pathetic, you’re more obsessed with Nicki Minaj than Nicki is. I can see being a little bitter in the beginning but this has just gone on long enough. It’s tired, it’s stale, it’s boring. Every interview is about Nicki. Every rap is about Nicki. Do the few fans you have left really want to keep hearing diss tracks about the same person? Why don’t you go back to the drawing board, make something hot and new, and come back hard? Just a thought.”

:: Noami blamed the 2014 VMA lineup  for the award show’s lower viewer ratings on 2014 MTV Video Music Awards: 8.3 Million Viewers, Down 18% From Last Year: “I think it had to do with the lineup. Most of the people that performed I wasn’t really interested in. I was only eager for Beyonce’s performance. 2014 has been a lackluster year in mainstream pop music so far. Let’s just hope there’s going to be any interesting music within the next four months.”

:: Adam thought that J-Lo’s “Booty” remix with Iggy should’ve been the actual original track on Iggy Azalea Jumps On Jennifer Lopez’s “Booty”: Listen To The Remix: “THIS should’ve been the original. It was a pretty smart & obvious choice to call Iggy up on this song. What wasn’t smart was this song with Pitbull having made the cut on the album. When we read that JLo was teaming up with Iggy, and there was a song on her album named ‘Booty’, it came as a surprise that the Iggs featured on another track (a lame one, by the way). This, with a PROPER video (which is currently on the works, as seen in Iggy’s Instagram) would’ve increased A.K.A.’s sales. End of story.”

:: And finally, Nene Leks threw some major shade at Nicole Scherzy’s latest track “On The Rocks” on Nicole Scherzinger Premieres New Single, “On The Rocks”: Listen: “weak like my nans bad leg.”
