Róisín Murphy Says Her New Album Is “Like Nothing You’ve Ever Heard Before”

While the wait continues for Róisín Murphy‘s long, long, long awaited forthcoming LP, the Irish avant-garde pop songstress just provided a teensy hint of what’s to come on Instagram this week — not that it makes the wait any easier, of course.

The “Let Me Know” chanteuse, who’s been serving up singles here and there like “Momma’s Place,” as well as her summer Italian language disco EP, Mi Senti — uploaded a photo of a handwritten letter explaining what’s to come from the long-awaited LP. “It really is like nothing you’ve ever heard before,” she says. Check out what the singer-songstress had to say in full after the jump.

“There was a desire to make an unquestionably refined record. It’s multi layered, electronic and live instrumentation, musically it goes to places most pop music never does. It’s emotionally bare and laced with irony. I definitely didn’t set out to make something unique per-se but eddie’s vision is like nobody else’s on the planet and it really is like nothing you’ve ever heard before. So it’s impossible to describe except to say..it’s heartfelt.”
