The Veronicas Will Release Their Comeback Single Later This Week

After years of setbacks (a drawn-out label dispute, an indie-phase & now a new deal with Sony), The Veronicas will return with new music later this week. The Aussie twins, who are best-known stateside for their surprise 2009 hit “Untouched”, announced their comeback with a tweet that simply stated “3 days…”. Commence crying and shaking now.

It will be fascinating to hear what the duo serves up after their extended hiatus. The Veronicas’ last release — 2012’s Australia only single “Lolita” — was a mental electro-pop anthem with a massive dub-step breakdown but the material they have teased recently (like “Sugar Daddy”) sounds darker and more organic. The sisters’ two LPs still hold up remarkably well, so I’m confident their new tune will be worth the wait. See Jess and Lisa’s tweet after the jump.
