Miley Cyrus To Premiere Art Collection During New York Fashion Week

Miley Cyrus poses seductively among teddy bears and with pool toys for the forthcoming issue of V, as now expected of her. As the magazine just revealed, though, her Bangerz-era public image – “an adult baby,” in her words – also inspired her first-ever art collection.

Cyrus will premiere “Dirty Hippie,” a sculpture series, at designer Jeremy Scott‘s New York Fashion Week show on September 10. The collection will then appear at V’s offices in New York City starting September 11.

Cyrus’ favorite piece from the collection is a mask of white teddy bear figurines, with a ponytail of neon braids attached to it. “I’m figuring out the strap now because I’ve done it so many different ways, and it keeps being too heavy and stabbing people,” she said to V.

Other source materials include baby figurines, bubble gum packages, a hamster toy from Petco and a vibrator that a fan gifted her.

Todd James, the artist who designed the teddy bear back-up dancers for Cyrus’ MTV VMAs performance, was a major inspiration. “He involves sex in his pieces in a really cool way, which is what I want to do,” she says. “I feel there’s something fairly sexual here, besides just the dick. There’s something sexy about the masks. They’re a little fucked up and childish.”
