There are many, many reasons to get overly excited about Mary J. Blige‘s upcoming album The London Sessions, including the roster of bright and shiny UK talent (Disclosure, Eg White, Emile Sande, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy, Sam Romans, Sam Smith) the soul queen spent time in the studio with this summer during the making of it. And here’s another item that’s getting us jazzed for the LP, which now has a December 2 release date: The three-minute behind-the-scenes clip on the making of the album, which premiered today on Pitchfork. (Watch it below.)

“To work in these environments and to see these major superstars with all these #1 records — how can I describe it?” Mary says in the video. “They’re not full of themselves. They’re just having fun, and it was just a pleasure. It was like so refreshing.”

According to a press release for The London Sessions, the song “Therapy” will be the lead single. It was co-written by Blige, Sam Smith and Eg White, and will be made available on iTunes on September 23.

Until then, give a listen to buzz track “Right Now,” a collaboration with Smith and Disclosure, here.
