Delta Goodrem Returns With A Cover Of Martika’s ’90s Hit “Love… Thy Will Be Done”: Listen
Despite landing a couple of adult contemporary hits (2005’s “Lost Without You” and 2008’s “In This Life” spring to mind), Delta Goodrem is probably best known in the US for being dragged by Marlon Wayans at a Beyonce concert. In Australia, however, she’s a superstar with eight number one hits to her credit — not to mention one of the highest selling albums of all time.
The 29-year-old debuted her new single today (September 11) and it just so happens to be a cover of Martika‘s enduring 1991 top 10 hit “Love… Thy Will Be Done”, which was written and produced by Prince. Delta’s cover is relatively faithful to the original but sounds more dated than the soft and sultry original due to the easy listening production.
