Danity Kane Announces Post-Breakup Album ‘DK3’

Danity Kane has struggled this year to stage a comeback.

Last spring, the Making the Band-formed girl group released a new single, “Lemonade,” though unexpectedly as a trio. (Fourth member Aundrea Fimbres didn’t announce her departure until the first night of Danity Kane’s reunion tour.) Then the group split after a physical dispute between Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’Day, reportedly because O’Day and Shannon Bex recorded songs behind Richard’s back. (Cue “Damaged.”)

Just when the dust settled, though, Danity Kane announced its new album DK3, out October 28.

“What’s up, DK fans. I just want to let you guys know that I love you, I miss you so much, and because you guys never gave up on us, Shannon and I haven’t given up on you,” O’Day says in a video posted to Instagram. The announcement is sweet on the surface, though as fans noticed, Richard is conspicuously absent. She does appear on the album cover, though she’s yet to mention DK3 on social media.
