Katy Perry Hurls Corndogs At ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’: Watch

On October 4, and in between dates of her Prismatic World Tour, Katy Perry stopped in Oxford, Miss., for her first-ever college football game – oh, and to appear as the “Guest Picker” on ESPN’s College GameDay. Unlike the show’s four other analysts, Perry wasn’t making her college football predictions based on performance. “I was going to pick them based on colors,” the singer joked.

When asked who should win between Oklahoma and TCU, Perry said, “I’m picking this one based on looks. Trevor Knight, do you hear me? The quarterback from Oklahoma we don’t mind, so I’m going to go with him.” She then pulls out a heart-shaped sign with a photo of Knight, begging him to to call her. (Perry’s chances are actually slim – sadly, he’s taken.)

Perry also chose Tennessee over Florida because Dolly Parton lives in the former. And, while the College GameDay regulars chose Texas A&M over Mississippi State, Perry threw corndogs at the camera, ripped off the elephant mask that analyst Lee Corso was wearing (the elephant is Texas A&M’s mascot), to cheers from the crowd.

The Prism star’s methodology may not have been totally sound, but for her it worked. As CBS Sports points out, she ended up making the best picks. Watch Perry cause chaos on College GameDay up top, then see her celebrate Ole Miss’ victory below.
