Nominations for the 2014 ARIA Awards — the Australian equivalent of the Grammys — were announced today (October 7) and a number of familiar faces were well represented. Bearded producer/shirtless Instagram heartthrob Chet Faker leads the field with 6 nods for breakthrough LP Built On Glass but he’s closely followed by Brisbane band Sheppard and Billboard 200-conquering singer/songwriter Sia.

Other internationally renowned acts in contention include Iggy Azalea and 5 Seconds Of Summer. They both got nominated for Song Of The Year (“Fancy” and “She Looks So Perfect”) and Best Breakthrough Artist. The rap diva is also in the running for Best Urban Album and Best Female Artist. As for the snubs? “Riptide” hitmaker Vance Joy and synth-pop maestro Andy Bull were largely overlooked in the major categories, while Kylie Minogue was completely subbed. See the list of nominees after the jump.
