Together they have collaborated on four chart-topping singles and multiple other Top 10 hits over the past six years, but today brought news of an absolute bombshell regarding the professional relationship between artist Kesha and her producer Dr. Luke.

In a lawsuit reported to have been filed by the pop singer to extricate her from her contract with Luke, there are allegations that the producer “sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused” Kesha for 10 years, according to TMZ.

The site claims to have obtained a copy of the suit, and notes, “Kesha claims Dr. Luke was abusive towards her almost from the get-go — when she signed on with him at 18 — and made repeated sexual advances toward her. She claims he would force her to use drugs and alcohol to remove her defenses.”

UPDATE: According to TMZ, Dr. Luke has now filed suit against the singer, claiming that she planned to extort the producer by threatening to spread lies about him to a “Free Kesha” website. His lawyer, Christine Lepera, told TMZ that Kesha’s allegations are a part of “a campaign of publishing outrageous and untrue statements.”

Kesha Sebert, 27, first came into the public’s eye (and ear) via her uncredited vocals on Flo Rida‘s 2009 single “Right Round,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100. Dr. Luke, 41 (whose real name is Lukasz Gottwad), co-produced that song, as well as Kesha’s subsequent hits like “Tik Tok,” “We R Who We R” and, most recently, “Timber,” a vocal collaboration with Pitbull that reached #1 earlier this year.

While “Timber” was riding high in January, however, things were not so fantastic behind the scenes. Kesha checked into Illinois rehab facility Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center, citing an eating disorder. The singer’s mother, Pebe Sebert, claimed Dr. Luke was partly to blame for the disorder, given that he was said to have been emotionally abusive to Kesha over the years. TMZ posted in January that Luke had referred to the singer as looking “like a fucking refrigerator” during a 2012 video shoot.

Now TMZ is reporting the following:

[Kesha] claims [Dr. Luke] would force her to use drugs and alcohol to remove her defenses.

In one instance, Kesha claims he forced her to snort something before getting on a plane … and during the trip he forced himself on her while she was drugged.

On another occasion, Kesha claims after forcing her to drink with him, Dr. Luke gave her what he called “sober pills.” Kesha claims she woke up the following afternoon, naked in Dr. Luke’s bed, sore, sick … and with no memory of how she got there.

Kesha also says there was physical abuse … once she says he attacked her at his Malibu house where he was “violently thrashing his arms at her.” She says she escaped and ran barefoot down PCH and hid in the mountains.

The lawsuit has been filed as a means to remove Kesha from her contract with Dr. Luke, according to TMZ.

“This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke,” Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, tells the site.
