Pitbull Will Host And Perform At The 2014 American Music Awards

Mr. Worldwide (otherwise known as Pitbull) is set to host this year’s American Music Awards. The entertainer will set the tone for the music ceremony, as well as perform a new song from his forthcoming album. He was quite ecstatic about the news, saying in a statement: “World, who would have thought Pitbull hosting the AMAs two years in a row. The harder I work, the luckier I get. Thank you ABC and dick clark productions for the amazing opportunity — more than anything let’s get ready to have fun. Dale!”

Iggy Azalea, Katy Perry and Pharrell lead the pack with the most nominations for the night. The “Fancy” rapper has six nods, with the latter artists snagged themselves five nominations. Along with Pitbull, Charli XCX is also confirmed to perform at the awards show.

In addition to his upcoming hosting duties, Pitbull is planning to release his eighth studio LP, Globalization, on November 24. The album will feature assists from artists like Chris Brown, Jason Derulo and frequent collaborator Jennifer LopezThe 2014 AMAs will air live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater, on November 23 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
