The rollout of Rita Ora‘s sophomore album was derailed when ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris took back all the songs he wrote for it but the ensuing delay has given the “Black Widow” babe time to collaborate with some interesting people. Take her new single “Grateful”, which is the handiwork of legendary songwriter Diane Warren. The soaring power ballad shows the Brit in a completely new light.

“I’m grateful for the wrong one, made me appreciate the right one,” Rita sings in the Celine Dion-worthy chorus. “I’m grateful for the pain, for everything that made me brave.” It will be interesting to see if the song connects with fans of the 23-year-old’s urban/dance output but Diane is confident. “Rita Ora did an amazing vocal,” she says of the Beyond The Lights soundtrack cut. “I think it can be a career song for her.” Take a listen to the lighters-in-the-air anthem after the jump.
