MØ Offers Up Handwritten Letter Following Questionable ‘Saturday Night Live’ Performance With Iggy Azalea

Last Friday morning had Azaleans over the moon, as Iggy Azalea‘s lead Reclassified single “Beg For It” finally premiered. Even better, the song, which features Danish artist on chorus duty, felt like the second coming of mega-hit “Fancy” — in other words, “Beg For It” plays like a bullseye smash.

Fortune turned quickly over the weekend, however, once Iggy and MØ hit up Saturday Night Live to perform the single. Azalea was on-point, bringing the right amounts of attitude and sass to the stage. But her Danish pal seemed to be two paces behind, both with her out-of-step dancing and awkward vocals. We all know guide tracks are a given with live performances these days, but MØ appeared to struggle with even matching her own vocals to the backing ones. So what happened?

Cut to Sunday, when MØ hand-wrote a letter of explanation, in which she blamed “technical issues” for the “latency on [her] vocals” while also giving “big love to Iggy and her team.”

Below is a photo of the letter that the singer tweeted out.

In turn, Iggy brushed off any criticism aimed at her collaborator and offered words of support on Instagram: “MO congratulations on your first television! (It only gets easier!)”

All in all, the performance was a colossal disaster. Iggy brought enough fire to make up for most of the eyebrow-raising antics MØ brought. But what do you think of the Danish singer’s explanation? Let us know below, and if you missed Iggy’s SNL performances, catch them both here.
