Staind Frontman Aaron Lewis Screwed Up The National Anthem After Dissing Christina Aguilera For Doing The Same: Watch

Well! Justice has just been served on a big ol’ plate full of lotus flowers and red lipstick tubes.

After “Beautiful” diva Christina Aguilera slightly fumbled her words during her (still iconic) performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” at the opening of the 2011 Super Bowl, Staind frontman Aaron Lewis went on a short rant mid-concert about artists who “try to change that f**king song.” Rude — and, unfortunate for him, oddly prophetic.

Fast forward to this past weekend, when Lewis was in charge of belting out the tune for Game 5 of the World Series in San Francisco. And almost right off the bat, he missed the mark: “What so proudly we hailed…were so gallantly streaming.” Oops! That’s a lyrical mismatch. You Got Cursetina’-ed!

Lewis wasted no time in apologizing, using his official website to issue an official apology to the nation and blaming his nerves before the game: “The Star-Spangled Banner means so much to so many, including myself. I hope everyone can understand the intensity of the situation and my true intent of this performance,” he wrote.

That’s all fine and whatever, but where is the formal apology to Legend X? Here’s to some Justice For Christina — and #JusticeForBionic!
