Future Hit: Danny Mercer’s “Who Are You Loving Now?” Video Is Full Of Smoldering, Reggae-Pop Heartbreak
As far as Colombians in the mainstream pop world go, Shakira has been the dominant force for a fair amount of years. So it’s about time we had an equally good looking male counterpart come along.
Enter Danny Mercer, a native of Bogota, Colombia, who graduated not that long ago from, um, Columbia University and is now signed to — wait for it — Columbia Records. His debut single “Who Are You Loving Now?” is a nice little slice of reggae-pop that displays Danny’s knack for sparkling melodies as well as his smooth, Bruno Mars-esque tenor. Bonus: He’s not that bad on the eyes, either. (Oh. I already mentioned that, didn’t I…)
Mercer co-produced “Who Are You Loving Now?” with French duo soFLY & Nius (Justin Bieber, Flo Rida), and it serves as the first offering from his upcoming EP.
