Taylor Swift talks living single in 23 (yes, 23) editions of Cosmopolitan‘s December issue. So, while songs off her fifth album 1989 deal with fleeting memories of an ex, Swift emphasizes how she isn’t interested in dating and couldn’t be happier. “People will say, ‘Let me set you up with someone,’ and I’m just sitting there saying, ‘That’s not what I’m doing. I’m not lonely. I’m not looking,’” she says. “I completely feel you on that, oh my God. They just don’t get it.”

The magazine describes Swift as “this girl’s girl,” who debates with friends like Girls creator Lena Dunham over the double standards of dating between males and females. As she also proved with her recent secret listening sessions, this sense of relatability is still key to Swift’s appeal. It’s why her first “documented, official pop album” has felt like a personal victory to fans, with an estimated 1.2 million copies sold during its first week.

And, it’s why she’s covering several dozen editions of Cosmo this month – the sort of feat that only she and, ironically, rumored “Bad Blood” subject Katy Perry can accomplish. Read the full Taylor Swift cover story at Cosmopolitan UK.
