Broods Deliver A Mesmerizing Interpretation Of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse”

Broods demonstrated their ability to transform a pop song into something completely new and different when they not so much remixed, as completely deconstructed Charli XCX‘s current single “Break The Rules”. The New Zealand duo took it a step further by putting their own haunting spin on Katy Perry‘s “Dark Horse” during a recent radio appearance in their homeland.

The Nott siblings strip Dr. Luke‘s trap-pop anthem right back, turning it into a haunting folk song that showcases the full range of Georgia’s exquisite voice. I’d love to hear Katy perform “Dark Horse” like this. It highlights everything that’s good (and timeless) about the chart-topper. Broods’ performance isn’t on YouTube yet, so you’ll have to peep it over at the radio station’s website. It took a minute to load for me but it was so worth it.
