Mariah Carey Accused Of Dropping Australian Support Act For Being Female, Lambs Don’t Buy It

Mariah Carey‘s diva antics are generally appreciated by fans and the general public alike but she might have taken things a little too far when The Elusive Chanteuse Show rolled into Australia. The pop icon has been accused of axing a budding pop star as her support act in Perth because she’s a woman. It didn’t take long for the miffed songstress in question to reach out to the media and the story soon exploded Down Under.

“Absolutely devistated (sic) that @MariahCarey has pulled me from her stage because I am female for tomorrow nights show!” Natalia tweeted. The Aussie newcomer then told her story to the country’s largest radio station. “I thought she was amazing… she hit every high note at that show,” she said before addressing the controversy. “I honestly thought why wouldn’t you support another act? No one is ever gonna steal the limelight but you could have kick-started something maybe for me and my career.”

Ironically, Natalia wasn’t supposed to perform in the first place. She was booked to entertain VIP guests before the show but was bumped up to support act when another artist pulled out due to scheduling conflicts. The “#Beautiful” hitmaker hasn’t given an official statement yet but the Lambs aren’t buying it. “Unless Mariah herself said it to you, defaming her name to the media isn’t smart,” the organizer of Mimi’s Australian fan Twitter responded. “She had no clue.” See the Twitter fallout after the jump.
