Mary J. Blige shifts gears from UK house to stripped-down production with her latest song, “When You’re Gone.” The tune, from her upcoming album The London Sessions, is a simple yet emotive acoustic ballad that finds the diva singing about longing for a lost love. The delicate guitar melody is the base of the song, with soaring strings rushing in towards the end.

The London Sessions (out on December 2), is the singer’s forthcoming thirteenth studio LP — with songs like “Therapy,” “Right Now,” “Nobody But You” and “Whole Damn Year.” It features collaborations from artists like Disclosure, Sam SmithEmeli Sandé and Naughty Boy.
