Just Kiddin’s “Thinking About It (Crom & Thanh Remix)”: Idolator Premiere

In October we posted the video for Just Kiddin‘s “Thinking About It,” a song we dubbed “a hypnotic, house-y charmer with an anonymous male vocalist repeating the main refrain enough times that you won’t soon forget it.” The UK duo, comprised of childhood pals Lewis and Laurie, are signed to Parlophone imprint FFRR.

“We met when we were only 12 at school,” Lewis tells Idolator. “We first got talking as Laurie was a drummer and I played guitar. JK happened long after this. We were friends for years but lost touch when we both went to uni. At uni, we both got massively into production & DJing so when we got back we got things started with JK.”

Today we’re premiering Crom & Thanh‘s remix of “Thinking About It,” ahead of the December 7 release of the single. Listen below, and catch more from our chat with Just Kiddin!

It’s such a huge year for house music coming out of the UK. What are some of your favorite ’90s house records? Laurie: Black Box, “Ride on Time.” Lewis: Stardust, “Music Sounds Better With You.”

How did “Thinking About It” come about? Where were you when you recorded/wrote it? JK: “Thinking About It” was originally just an instrumental we were toying with. We wrote the basics of it and didn’t spend too long on fine-tuning it as we wanted a vocal on it. We had sent a few ideas back and forth with a friend of ours called Jay and he came up with the hook. As soon as we heard it we knew it was a keeper – we then spent the time getting it to sound how it is today. It was a really quick turnaround, within a few hours of getting the vocals, we knew we were onto something strong.

Who does the male vocals on “Thinking About It”? JK: Jay Norton. He’s a lovely chap and were still working with him today.

Is there an album in the works? Another EP? JK: The possibilities are endless right now. We’ve got a bunch of new tracks that we’re so excited for people to hear! At the moment? We don’t know how it will be delivered – but you’ll hear it soon enough.
