Gavin DeGraw has been a radio staple since landing his first hit way back in 2004 with “I Don’t Wanna Be”. It’s hard to believe a decade has passed since the arrival of the enduring singer/songwriter’s One Tree Hill theme song, but what better way to celebrate that anniversary than by releasing a career-encompassing compilation?

Finest Hour: The Best Of Gavin DeGraw (available now) includes all of the hat-loving musician’s biggest hits, from the above-mentioned earworm to new single “Fire”. We’re excited to premiere the first part of a companion video series that documents the story behind each anthem. For starters, did you know that Max Martin produced the original version of “In Love With A Girl”? How about the fact that “Follow Through” was partly inspired by Paul McCartney? Watch Gavin recount these stories (and more) up top.
