Shawn Mendes Hits The Streets In His Feel-Good “Something Big” Video: Watch

It’s been a big day for Shawn Mendes. The 16-year-old performed his new single “Something Big” on Live With Kelly & Michael and followed that up by dropping his first official video. (Although breakthrough hit “Life Of The Party” has a very fancy lyric video). It looks like the Canadian’s transition from Vine celebrity to pop star is just about complete!

With all the hype surrounding Shawn, expectations for his “Something Big” video were unusually high. And while it’s undeniably cute and endearingly dorky, the teenager looks a little awkward with all the hoopla surrounding him  (the white, suburban equivalent of homies, dancers and a marching band). He was much more convincing singing “Life Of The Party” with only a guitar to keep him company. Maybe there’s still some work to be done on how the talented teen is presented to the world at large?
