Ellie Goulding first hinted at a new album last month, at island concert Bacardi Triangle. On stage, the eclectic British vocalist promised that she would be back stateside by next summer, letting the audience figure out on its own that new music will probably arrive in the spring. Last night (November 14) at the London Palladium, though, Goulding confirmed that a new studio release is indeed on the way.

“The only big thing coming up for me now is my third album, which won’t be out until next year. Everything is going into that,” Goulding said, during the Royal Variety Performance, an annual gala hosted by the British Royal Family.

The “Burn” star’s new album will be her third, following 2010’s Lights and 2012’s Halcyon. (That isn’t counting 2013’s the Halcyon reissue, Halcyon Days.) Recently, she popped up in Iggy Azalea‘s “Heavy Crown,” to be featured in Azalea’s Reclassified and Colin Firth‘s upcoming action thriller Kingdom: The Secret Service. Goulding also features on “Outside” — a cut from Calvin Harris‘s new album Motion. In other Ellie news, the Brit revealed to Capital FM that she recorded vocals for Drake‘s new album, Views from the 6. “We converse,” she said. “He discovered my voice on his last album [2013’s Nothing Was the Same], he sampled it, and I think he’s become a fan through that. So who knows, something might happen.” [via Digital Spy]
