Taylor Swift Receives Dick Clark Award For Excellence From Diana Ross At 2014 American Music Awards: Watch
Taylor Swift was presented with an incredible honor at last night’s American Music Awards! The “Blank Space” starlet won the first-ever Dick Clark Award for Excellence, presented by the legendary diva Diana Ross. During her speech, the singer made a point to highlight the hard work of musicians (possible shade thrown at Spotify, maybe?):
“What you did by going out and investing in music and albums is you are saying that you believe in the same thing that I believe in. Music is valuable and music should be consumed in albums and albums should be consumed as art and appreciated.”
The singer has been wrapping up 2014 in a major way! Her fifth studio LP, 1989, debuted at the number one spot on Billboard 200 with 1.3 million copies sold — beating out The Eminem Show for the highest first-week sales record.
