You can either breathe easy or let out a great sigh of disappointment, because Jessie J and Ariana Grande are not teaming up to remake Brandy and Monica‘s R&B classic, “The Boy Is Mine.”

Despite the fact that Darkchild seemingly confirmed the collaboration for his upcoming 20th anniversary project, according to the UK’s Mirror, Jessie J quickly shot down those rumors herself on the American Music Awards red carpet. In fact, she even went so far as to reach out to Brandy about the idea.

“No, it’s not true, neither of us have agreed. Sadly people are believing it. I spoke to Brandy and I was like, ‘no it’s not happening’. Monica and Brandy are the best,” she said. It would be odd for Darkchild to dream up a collaboration without asking either of the participants, but that seems like a pretty stone-cold “no” on Jessie’s part, right? Ah, well. Maybe he was just listening to too much “Bang Bang.”
