Rumor had it that Rihanna would be the one to lob new music at the Internet sometime around Thanksgiving, but it seems Madonna beat her to the punch. Earlier today a snippet of supposed Avicii pair-up “Rebel Heart” did the rounds. Now a longer clip of the song has been posted to SoundCloud. Also online now: another reported Madge and Avicii collab called “Wash All Over Me.”
Regarding the latter track, Madonna fan site Drowned World states that it “sounds more like a song produced by Stuart Price, a la Confessions On a Dance Floor,” than something Avicii had a hand in. Let’s just be thankful it has more of a vague disco/house vibe than a godawful EDM one.
Like “Wash All Over Me,” the longer clip of self-reflective number “Rebel Heart” reveals that strings play an important role in the track’s overall hook, as does the constant presence of an acoustic guitar.
There’s no official word on whether either of these songs are in their final form or if they’ll appear on Madonna’s upcoming studio album, but you can give each a listen below.
