Smallpools Deliver Another Synth-Rock Gem With Feel-Good Anthem “Karaoke”: Listen

L.A. band Smallpools generated significant buzz in 2013 with their ruthlessly catchy debut single “Dreaming”. A minor hit on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart, the breezy jam lives on in the soundtracks of multiple video games and TV shows. Sean, Mike, Joe and Beau followed that up with another track called “Killer Whales” in the summer but take things to the next level with new synth-rock anthem “Karaoke”.

Co-produced by Ricky Reed and John Ryan, “Karaoke” is an ’80s-influenced jaunt with a serotonin-raising chorus and (intentionally) tinny synths. Think Walk The Moon in a mellow mood or Bleachers without the lashings of nostalgia. The radio-friendly single is taken from Smallpools’ debut LP LOVETAP!, which is expected early next year. Listen to the future hit after the jump.
