Queen Of Promo Madonna has another high profile feather to stick in her cap, in that the pop matron is the face of Versace’s spring and summer 2015 advertising campaign. The New York Times premiered the first two images of Madge modeling Donatella’s new line (above). Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the photographer duo who shot Madonna’s current boobs-out spread for Interview, got behind the lens for the campaign, which is set to run as a 12-page portfolio in upcoming issues of Vanity Fair and Vogue, among other publications.

“Madonna says it best herself: She is unapologetic,” Donatella Versace told the New York Times. “She is her own woman, a role model who shows other women how we can do what we want, and get what we want, and do so for all of our lives, with no compromise.”

The Times also talked with advertising consultant Lisa Mirchin about Madonna’s Versace campaign, who shut down any notion that Madge is too old to be shilling products to the upwardly mobile set.

“Once you hit that icon status, it’s not a matter of relevance,” said Mirchin. “Is Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn relevant? I think so. Madonna is ageless, and so is most fashion. Women are dressing as one age now. The range can go from 20 to whatever nature and physics will allow.”
