Still struggling to get your head around Empire Of The Sun composing the soundtrack of Dumb And Dumber To? The Australian duo’s otherworldly brand of electronica is an unlikely fit for a Farrelly Brothers comedy, but someone clearly knew what they were doing. “Wandering Star”, the first taste of the score, is an absolute gem that finds the band revisiting to the ethereal synths and mellow melodies of their 2008 debut LP Walking On A Dream.

“Don’t you know when you crossed my path it felt like fate, don’t you give up what we had,” Luke Steele whispers on the understated love song before arriving at a typically obtuse chorus: “Wandering stars might fade away but you know that the sun is here to stay.” Empire Of The Sun deliver a rush of lush electronica that reminds you just how good they are in top form. Listen to their latest after the jump.
