It seems Coldplay have run out of Ghost Stories to tell.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe yesterday, Chris Martin revealed that the title of their upcoming LP will be A Head Full Of Dreams — and that the collection would likely be the (tentative) end of the road for the award-winning troupe.

“It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that,” Martin explained about the forthcoming record, which he says they’re “right in the middle” of recording. “Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something.”

And, from the sound of it, the band is more excited than ever about what they’re working on right now. “It was great to go from Ghost Stories to go right back in the studio. Now we’re making things that sound different, and it’s just a very fun time to be in our band…I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing, otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it. Then we will go on tour.”

Are you excited about a new (final) Coldplay LP, or is the news just bittersweet? Let us know in the comments below.
