Following the announcement of Coldplay‘s three Grammy nominations last week — not to mention the news that their Ghost Stories follow-up will be titled A Head Full Of Dreams, and that it could well be their last (!) album — the band have finally premiered their Unbroken soundtrack song, “Miracles.”

Unbroken is directed by Angelina Jolie and based on the true story of Olympic track runner Louis “Louie” Zamperini (portrayed in the film by Jack O’Connell), who drifted in the Pacific in a life raft for over a month during World War II before being captured by the Japanese as a prisoner of war for two years. The real life Zamperini passed away in July at the age of 97.

The mid-tempo “Miracles” features uplifting guitar and piano chords, finger snaps and inspirational lyrics and crooning courtesy of Chris Martin. Would you expect anything less from a proper Coldplay anthem?

Coldplay’s “Miracles” will be made available on iTunes on December 15, while Unbroken opens in theaters on December 25.
