Beyonce‘s quest to conquer clubs over the holiday period is now in full swing with a new batch of official “7/11” remixes arriving online. While BAUT (the best of the existing mixes) delivered a fairly traditional house overhaul, RedTop takes the rising hit — it reached a new peak of number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week — in a very different direction. Who knew that Queen Bey’s radical, chorus-less anthem just needed to be funked up?

The Swedish DJ has a long history of remixing Bey’s iconic jams. He is probably best remembered for that sprawling, 11-minute version of Beyonce highlight “Haunted” (listen to his eerie take here), but RedTop also made a number of 4-era singles — “I Was Here” and “Party” — club-ready. They were all great but this is on a different level. “7/11” sounds like a completely new song without losing any of its bite. Listen to the funk-heavy remix after the jump.
