Charli XCX Lip Syncs For Her Life On ‘Today’: Watch The Brit Perform New Single “Break The Rules”
Charli XCX is a great live performer, but you wouldn’t know that from this morning’s (December 17) appearance on Today. The Brit looked sharp in a black beret and short, leopard-skin print dress and put on a typically energetic display, which is impressive considering her microphone was never switched on. She even moved away from the mic at one point while new single “Break The Rules” was still playing, so, at least, wasn’t trying to hide her mime game.
It’s been a huge week/year for Charli. After multiple delays, her sophomore LP Sucker is finally out and it looks like she has another hit on her hands with “Break The Rules.” The 22-year-old is also nominated for two Grammys — including one for Record Of The Year — for her chart-topping collaboration with Iggy Azalea, “Fancy.” If they get to perform the anthem at the ceremony, hopefully she will show off her live vocals.
