Well, it’s official: Sam Smith can truly say he’s lonely no more.

The UK soul crooner is now the only artist to sell one million copies both here in the US and the UK, according to the Official Charts Company.

Smith’s debut LP, In The Lonely Hour, officially passed the million mark overnight, one of only two UK records to do so overseas — the other being Ed Sheeran‘s x. At the same time, the album was confirmed to be a million-seller in the US, alongside only Taylor Swift‘s 1989 and Disney’s Frozen soundtrack, by Nielsen Music yesterday.

“OFFICIALLY sold 1 MILLION copies of In The Lonely Hour! To say I am ecstatic is a huge understatement. Thank you so much to every single person who has purchased my album,” said Smith of the achievement.

The talented singer stays winning, too: He just notched his second Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 hit in the US this week with “I’m Not The Only One.” That Sam Smith reign just won’t let up!
