Beyonce’s “7/11” Remixed By French Montana And Detail: Listen
Beyonce released the official remix package to her new single “7/11” earlier in December. By doing so, though, she has inspired even more producers and DJs to reinterpret the woozy club banger.
The latest remix comes from none other than Detail, who produced the original “7/11” himself. And this, what he has dubbed the “Detail Christmas Addition,” feels almost like a daydream in comparison. It’s actually airy, with acoustic guitar licks and rapper French Montana warbling from a distance, to back Third Ward Trill’s assertions to “smack it, smack it in the air.” And it feels less like another option for the club — see Swedish DJ RedTop‘s remix for that — than proof that Detail’s got versatility.
This “Detail Christmas Addition” won’t be the last remix of Beyonce’s “7/11” this year. Instead, that may be Jack U‘s just-announced version — Jack U, of course, being producer-DJs Diplo and Skrillex — due out later today. For now, hear Detail and French Montana’s new take on “7/11” below.
