The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan Says He Was Approched To Write For Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus Is A Thong-Rocking Elf
Santa knows that Miley Cyrus has been very naughty this year and, if he's anything like us, he can't get enough of her raunchy antics.

Does “Party In The U.S.A.” songstress Miley Cyrus have her very own “1979” tucked up her (rarely worn) sleeves? Well, okay. Perhaps not.

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan revealed during an interview with OUI FM Rock Sessions that he was “recently” approached to write for the forthcoming Miley project, but turned down the offer — not because of Miley herself, however. “The problem is, and this is nothing against her, but that whole world in L.A. is they want you to write a bunch of songs, then the pop people pick through, ‘I want that one, I want that one.’ I don’t do that,” he explained during the interview.

Instead, he’d much prefer to sit down with the selfie-taking young siren in the studio directly to work together. “If she called me and said, ‘Would you write a song with me?’ I would consider it because again, she is very talented, and it would be a cool thing to explore, but I’m not going to write a song and sit by the fire, hoping that Miley will pick my song over the next stupid song.”

Then again, his feelings on the state of pop music alone probably wouldn’t provide for a very cohesive songwriting session: “It’s pornography. Music, in terms of pop music right now, is basically pornography. The videos are becoming more pornographic, the story behind the music is becoming more pornographic. Why? Because that the only move pop has, it can’t win on a qualitative basis.” Meanwhile, Miley is actively promoting the #FreeTheNipple campaign all over Instagram. Can’t say it sounds like these two would exactly hit it off.

Do you think the alt-rock frontman and the Bangerz beauty would make a good duo in the studio? Sound off in the comments below.
