Lauryn Hill (above, second from left) has spent the past year or so performing live shows, reemerging from a three-month jail stint and silence following her ’90s chart dominance with her lone solo studio effort, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

She did a doubleheader at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, covered the Beatles on Late Night with David Letterman, surprised the crowds at Coachella and Drake‘s OVO Fest, and made her pay-per-view debut at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl, among other appearances.

Now, the former Fugee is gearing up for a string of more intimate shows, titled SMALL AXE: Acoustic Performance Series. Starting next month, Hill performs two dates at Washington, D.C.’s Howard Theatre and then four in New York, at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade, Highline Ballroom and Blue Note. Tickets are on sale now.
