Hozier Does 'Saturday Night Live'
Hozier made a triumphant debut on 'SNL' — belting out a perfect rendition of "Take Me To Church."

Hozier‘s gut-wrenching soul/rock anthem “Take Me To Church” isn’t the first song that springs to mind when you think of potential club fodder, but that didn’t stop Joe Maz transforming the unexpected chart smash into a floorfiller. The Miami DJ expertly transplants the Irishman’s plaintive vocal into a brooding electro-soundscape and revs up the BPM to club-friendly. The end-result works surprisingly well.

2014 was a huge year for Hozier. The 24-year-old landed a global hit with “Take Me To Church” and even nabbed a Grammy nomination for Song Of The Year. Impressively, his self-titled debut LP has also turned out to be steady seller, hovering around the top 10 of the Billboard 200 since its September release. It will be interesting to see which song he goes with next given the lack of obvious singles on his (extremely consistent) album. Listen to Joe Maz’s dance remix after the jump.
