Jennifer Lopez Says She Wouldn’t Have Made It Through On ‘American Idol’ As A Teen: Watch Her ‘Daily Show’ Interview
Tireless showbiz mogul Jennifer Lopez swung by The Daily Show yesterday to have a chat with Jon Stewart, during which she wore quite a demure set of threads compared to the clothes we’ve seen her in lately. Jon and JLo chatted about American Idol (“It’s good! We have a great season this year! I’m loving it!”) and Lopez’s new thriller opening this weekend, The Boy Next Door (“I had to read with a lot of actors for the role, because he goes from being the boy next door to kind of a monster.”) Stewart even tries to get her to ‘fess up as to the worst on-screen kisser she ever encountered.
The most interesting bit, however, came when Stewart asks the usual stock question we’ve heard a million times: Would you have auditioned for Idol as a teenager? JLo’s answer was quite an honest one.
“I was so, I say, blissfully ignorant back then and fearless,” Lopez said. “No I’m afraid of everything. Back then? Not so afraid. I used to do anything. I probably wouldn’t have made it through. I don’t think so. You have to have that really big voice. I have a pop voice, you know what I mean? I love my voice. I love my voice — it’s taken me, done good for me. ”
