Sugoi, desu ne?

Rule-breaking pop hottie Charli XCX‘s brand of cool simply can’t be limited by language barriers, which is why she’s decide to re-record her two big hits in Japanese for the Japan release of her sophomore record, Sucker.

The “Doing It” songstress has put a very J-Pop-friendly spin on both “Boom Clap” and “Break The Rules,” alternating between English and Japanese. Her pronunciation is actually pretty solid, too! Intriguingly, this isn’t Charli’s first flirtation with the idea of Japanese pop music: In an interview with Time before the release of her album, she said that her next album will “be heavily inspired by Japanese pop music” and will sound “intensely weird and childlike.”

Listen to extended previews of Charli’s “Boom Clap” and “Break The Rules” in Japanese after the jump.
