Jennifer Lawrence Gets A Dance Remix
Jennifer Lawrence landed the surprise hit of 2014. Listen to the unlikely club banger!

In case there was still any lingering doubt that Jennifer Lawrence is quickly coming for the title of Queen Of Pop, the Hunger Games actress-turned-chanteuse just snagged her very first Platinum record.

The unexpected feat came upon the runaway success of Lawrence’s “The Hanging Tree,” a contribution to the James Newton Howard-composed score of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, P. 1 that debuted at an incredibly impressive #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in December. It would then take on even more unexpected life thanks to an uptempo dance remix by Israeli DJ Shahaf Moran, which went on to get actual, substantial radio play.

In a press release today, Republic confirmed that the song has reached the Top 5 in iTunes in over 75 countries, and was officially certified Platinum by the RIAA for over 1 million digital sales. Pretty remarkable!

But don’t forget: She still doesn’t like singing in front of other people. Perhaps a nice, shiny new plaque will change her mind and convert her into a full time pop princess after all?
