Somewhat surprisingly, Madonna is not a fan of E. L. JamesFifty Shades Of Grey. The pop icon might have released a song about spanking and curated that infamous Sex book, but she thinks the zeitgeist-capturing novel is boring and way too focused on one particular sex act. “It’s pulp fiction. It’s not very sexy, maybe [only] for someone who has never had sex before,” the “Living For Love” diva told Billboard.

“I kept waiting for something exciting and crazy to happen in that red room thing,” Madonna admits. “And I was like, ‘Hmm, a lot of spanking’.” That’s not her only criticism. “I’m sorry, but no one eats pussy as much as the guy in that book.” She might have a point there. The 56-year-old’s 13th studio album Rebel Heart drops March 10. It has already leaked in full, but fans will, no doubt, be adding a physical copy to their collection. The film adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey is in cinemas now.
