While most eyes were glued to Saturday Night Live‘s star-studded 40th anniversary special last night (February 15), Ariana Grande sneakily dropped her apocalypse-themed “One Last Time” video. Directed by Max Landis, the clip finds our heroine stuck in a traffic jam when a world-ending meteor storm erupts. Instead of running for cover or calling her mom, the 21-year-old desperately heads for the nearest rooftop to get a better view while her boyfriend films everything on a hand-held camera.

It all sounds very exciting, but it’s not. The visual is mostly comprised of shaky glimpses of Ariana’s back, depressed tenants and unconvincing special effects. Worst of all, the concept — complete with a romantic ending — doesn’t gel with what is essentially a classily understated break-up anthem. “One Last Time” is the fourth single from the hitmaker’s sophomore LP My Everything. The first three cuts reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
