Their catchy collaboration with Brandy and Nile Rodgers gets a stunning visual.

A few weeks ago Nile Rodgers announced a new CHIC album It’s About Time, due out this summer. Over the past few days, he has revealed more details about the release: the first singles, the significance behind these songs and a short film created by Daft Punk in celebration of the music.

First, Rodgers released a video teaser for CHIC’s first single for Warner Bros.: “I’ll Be There” featuring the Martinez Brothers (above). The legendary producer and guitarist named the song after the first words he spoke after he found out that his musical partner, bassist Bernard Edwards, had died in 1996 — and based on the snippet, the song sounds like a celebration of the founding disco they created together.

“I’ll Be There” will be featured on a 12-inch single alongside “Back In The Old School,” which Rodgers calls “a subliminal statement about dance music.”

Finally, Rodgers shared a still from a short film Daft Punk created. “Dear Nile, we are sending you this transmission to thank you for all your amazing songs,” a TV screen reads, with the robots’ reflections showing.

“I’ll Be There” is out March 20 on Warner Bros, while timed to the upcoming supermoon,  a phenomenon where the moon appears up to 12 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than the average full moon. Find out more at Rodgers’ official blog.
