Louis York’s “Clair Huxtable”: Listen To The Debut Single From Claude Kelly & Chuck Harmony

Claude Kelly has spent the better part of the last decade penning hits like Britney Spears‘ “Circus,” Kelly Clarkson‘s “My Life Would Suck Without You,” Jessie J‘s “Domino” and Olly Murs‘ “Dance With Me Tonight,” while Chuck Harmony has lent his producing hand to tracks by Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Rowland.

The creative pair have now taken their combined skills and poured them into their new project, a duo called Louis York.

“We got tired of being the last-minute call to write a first single,” Kelly, who does vocals for the duo, tells the Los Angeles Times. “Getting up to go [to work] was confining and disturbing my peace. Those days are over.”

Harmony adds, “We got really stagnant for a while.”

As Louis York, the duo recorded 15 songs last year, and plan to release an EP called Louis York Masterpiece Theater Act I, which the L.A. Times describes as an “eclectic mix steeped in hook-driven pop and throwback R&B along with rock and African tribal rhythms,” while also noting that the music is “impossible to peg.”

Here’s the first release off the EP, the single “Clair Huxtable” — a tribute to one of the lesser controversial icons from The Cosby Show these days, for sure.

“Things I Should Have Said” and “Nerds” are other songs mentioned that will appear on Louis York’s upcoming six-track debut EP, which is due out later this year.
