Kanye West Performs "Only One" On 'Skavlan': Watch
His recent performances have been claustrophobic — and the latest is no different.

Kanye West‘s seventh solo album is titled So Help Me God, as he revealed last night (February 28) on Twitter. He also posted an image featuring what may be a 13th century monastic symbol for the Virgin Mary, according to a conspiracy theory website cited on Reddit.

West has a complicated relationship with religion. We talk most about his God complex — how he demanded to be acknowledged as Yeezus two years ago. We cite songs like “New God Flow” and “I Am a God,” featuring God himself (at least, according to the tracklist), as proof of his ego. We debate over whether his 2006 Rolling Stone cover, where West wears a crown of thorns, crossed a line.

Let’s not forget, though, that the song that inspired that RS cover, “Jesus Walks,” isn’t of hubris, but humility: “God show me the way, because the Devil trying to break me down.” So if the title is any indication, So Help Me God may pick up from where that song — a Top 20 hit, despite West rapping, “They say you can rap about anything except for Jesus” — left off.
