CHIC To Release New Album
All you disco and funk lovers out there, get ready! Chic is releasing a new album this summer.

Nile Rodgers isn’t taking any chances with Chic‘s first LP in 23 years. The disco pioneer, who recently hit the studio to work on Lady Gaga‘s ARTPOP follow-up, opened up about his band’s comeback album in a new interview with Digital Spy and revealed some A-List collaborators. It’s About Time (due June) could feature the vocals of Miley Cyrus, Diana Ross, Janelle Monae and Elton John.

The 62-year-old guitarist/producer confirmed that the LP will contain a track called “Queen,” which he wrote for Diana Ross several decades ago. Nile hinted that she might perform it after receiving a little prod from son Evan Ross. Elton John has also written a song to to the project, while Janelle Monae recently laid down her vocal for another contribution. And then there’s Miley. “I’ve also become really good friends with Miley Cyrus, who sings her ass off!” the funk legend said. “So I just called up Miley and was like, ‘Yo Miley do you want to do this?’ [And she’s like] ‘Yeah!'”

Is this shaping up to be one of the most exciting albums of the year? Have your say in the comments below.
