Lady Gaga’s Post-Oscars Boost: Massive Social Media Gains And A 15.2% Increase In Streams
Make no mistake — a Lady Gaga revival is well and truly under way! Mother Monster’s Sound Of Music medley at the Oscars not only garnered a standing ovation and rave reviews, it also delivered quantifiable social media and streaming gains. In the week following the Cheek To Cheek diva’s performance, Nielsen reports a massive 3252% increase in Facebook likes and a 28.5% gain in Twitter followers.
Gaga’s Oscar appearance also resulted in fans flocking to YouTube to watch old clips. Nielsen’s study revealed a 15.2% increase in video streaming numbers and a 10.1% rise in on-demand streaming. When you consider her recent Grammy win and studio sessions with The Fame/The Fame Monster collaborator RedOne (as well as disco legend Niles Rodger), 2015 is shaping up to be a big year for Lady Gaga.
